MISSION STATEMENT
of the Pacific Division of AAAS

The purpose of the Pacific Division of the American Association for the Advancement of Science is to

  • further the work of scientists and their students
  • facilitate cooperation and communication among scientists and their students
  • foster scientific freedom and responsibility
  • improve the effectiveness of science in the promotion of human welfare
  • increase public understanding and appreciation of science
  • foster science education
  • unify and coordinate scientific societies affiliated with the Pacific Division.
