HOUSING ON THE SOU CAMPUS

Two types of accommodations are available on the Southern Oregon University campus for attendees of this meeting. Motel-type rooms are available at Cox Hall. In addition, a limited number of dorm rooms are available in Cascade Hall on campus.
 
 

Cox Hall
operates very much like a hotel. Rooms include

  • elevators to all floors
  • air conditioning
  • lounges with TV and cable
  • 2 double beds
  • bed linens and towels; BRING OWN TOILETRIES!
  • private bathroom
  • 100% Smoke free rooms
  • microwave
  • mini refrigerator
  • table with lamp
  • dresser
  • parking is $10 per day
  • Check-in 3:00 p.m.

The Cox Hall rooms are conveniently located a short walk from the meeting venues and also the Hawk Student Dining Commons.

A limited number of rooms are available starting the night of Sunday, 16 June and running through and including the night of Saturday, 22 June. To reserve, CLICK HERE to downolad the reservation form, which is to be returned to the Pacific Division office along with payment.

Rates for Cox Hall:
  • 3-night package, Tuesday through Thursday, 18 – 20 June
  • single: $300 per package person
  • double: $218 per package person

Additional nights (available only in addition to 3-night package and must connect with 3-night package with no gaps in stay), Sunday, Monday, Friday, Saturday, 16, 17, 21, 22 June:

  • single: $100/night per person
  • double: $73/night per person

Cascade Residence Hall has typical dorm rooms, with two sets of
  • twin beds
  • small wardrobes
  • bed linens and towels — BRING YOUR OWN TOILETRIES
  • TV in common areas
  • bathrooms down the hall
The dorm building has no elevator, only stairs. Both single and double rooms are available. Rooms will be assigned based on gender. The Cascade dorm rooms are conveniently located a short walk from the meeting venues and also the Hawk Student Dining Commons.

A limited number of rooms are available starting the night of Mnday, 17 June and running through and including the night of Saturday, 22 June. To reserve, click HERE to downolad the reservation form, which is to be returned to the Pacific Division office along with payment.

Rates for Cascade Hall:
  • 3-night package, Tuesday through Thursday, 18 – 20 June single:
  • $201 per package per person
  • double: $135 per package per person

Additional nights (available only in addition to 3-night package and must connect with 3-night package with no gaps in stay), Monday, Friday, Saturday, 17, 21, 22 June:

  • single: $68/night per person
  • double: $46/night per person

NOTES:

Individuals applying for double accomodations may either request their own roommate or we will assign one based on gender. If requesting thier own roommate, both housing applictions must arrive at the same time and be reciprocal with respect to the names of the roommates.

Parking for those with automobiles is available for $10 per night, payable on-site..

Please note that by applying for on-campus housing, you are agreeing to pay any additional fees that are assessed to the Pacific Division by SOU that relate to your stay in one of their rooms, such as lost keys, lost linens and towels, fines, etc.

OFF-CAMPUS MEETING HOUSING

There are several motels in the near vicinty of Southern Oregon University.

The Pacific Division has entered into an agreement with two hotels, the Ashland Springs Hotel and the Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites, to provide nice accommodations at reasonable rates (for Ashland) for those attending the meeting.

  • Dates available: nights of 17 – 21 June 2019. Additionally, and based on availability, negotiated rates are available for the nights of 16 June and 22 June.
  • Reservation deadline: 3 May 2019. As available at group rate after this date.
  • Cancellation policy: 72 hours before date of arrival without penalty.
  • Amenities: complimentary hotel parking, hot expanded continental breakfast, complimentary steam and sauna at Waterstone Spa, afternoon tea and cookies, late night snacks, free WiFi, and daily newspapers available in the lobby, on the Mezzanine, and in the breakfast room.   • Proximity to meeting: approximately 1.2 miles of a pleasent, slightly uphill walk to SOU.

If you’d rather stay elsewhere in Ashland or the surrounding area, we suggest you take advantage of hotel search engines such as Hotels.com, Priceline.com or Expedia.com in order to find the best deals. Make your reservations for off-campus housing directly with the hotel of your choice. Note that the AAAS, Pacific Division offers the above hotel without endorsement for any specific commercial enterprise.

FOOD
Most meals may be purchased at The Hawk, the campus student dining commons which is about a 6 minute or so walk from Science Hall where the majority of the meeting will be held. Service is buffet-style, all you can eat. Breakfast is $8.25, lunch is $9.75, and dinner is $12.50.

There are also numerous eateries next to and within a half mile of the SOU campus, as can be viewed HERE.

REFUNDS
Requests for refunds must be in writing and received in the Pacific Division office no later than 1 June 2019. Requests can be made via USPS or e-mail (aaaspd@sou.edu). A handling fee of $15.00 will be applied. Refunds to credit cards will incur an additional 3.5% fee on the amount of the original charge to help cover the costs of the credit card fees imposed on the Pacific Division.
